COSMIC THE MAGICIAN'S HINTS FOR A PAINLESS PARTY!

FOOD
1 - Generaly speaking, party food is not intended to nourish the children! So, they don't require 'healthy' foods (but see Note 4). Have fun and be inventive!
2 - It is easier to provide food that comes in packages, eg. crisps, cheeselets and biscuits; then, if the children do not consume all the food, you can at least store it for later use.
3 - Idealy, drinks should be in cartons, with straws to minimise the risk of spillage. If you intend to sit the children on your carpeted floor then use a colourful but waterproofed tablecloth.
4 - Include with the Invitations a simple check-slip for parents to let you know whether or not their child has a nut or other allergy; also ask if he/she is vegetarian.
5 - Please do not distribute food and drink during the show.     

GAMES
1 - If there are a largish number of children (more than 25) try to avoid games of a 'knockout' nature, for example, Musical Chairs. After a while, there are more 'out' than 'in' with these type of 'elimination' games. Those who are 'out' are left with nothing to do but make mischief for the others and you end up losing control, which results in chaos! You wont forget to bring your own music system for the games will you?  
2 - If you wish Cosmic The Magician, can run the 'whole' party. This fully inclusive package provides themed music, professionally constructed games and marvellous prizes for the competitions. Contact him immediately to discuss this further. 
3 - Any prizes that you supply need not be expensive. However, for the sake of your nerves, do not provide whistles and horns. Small children can make enough noise without outside assistance!
4 - Do not invite more children than you can comfortably cope with.

MISCELLANEOUS
1 - Secure balloons outside the party venue as a colourful beacon for lost parents.
2 - Some halls are uncarpeted and create a rather 'cold' ambience. As you know, group laughter and enjoyment is very infectious. This is especially so when children feel secure and comfortable. You can easily achieve this 'feel-good' by grouping them tightly together and sitting them on some soft matting or a blanket during the show. 
3 - Normally, it will not matter if children have seen 'Cosmic' before at another party. In fact, it helps! Children like the familiar and often tell their mummy afterwards that they would like the 'same magic man' for their party. 
4 - Babies and toddlers should be in the care of their parents during the show. 
5 - Please do not distribute squeakers, whistles, balloons etc before the performance. It only takes a few noisy rascals to spoil the enjoyment of the majority.
6 - Adults are welcome to watch the show - they will enjoy it as much as the children! However, they should be asked not to spoil the children's enjoyment with their own conversations. (Adults talking during the performance are a major problem that can so easily impair the magic show for the children - ask any entertainer in the world and they will agree that this is a major difficulty!)
7 - You are welcome totake photos of and/or video the magic show. But please talk to 'Cosmic' before the show and he will be able to indicate the best photo opportunities. 
8 - In case of emergencies, 'Cosmic' always carries his mobile telephone with him, Tel.07729176265. If the party is not being held at home, it is also helpful if he can have your mobile number or the venue telephone number.
9 - Mention on your invitations that you have booked a magical entertainer. Then. no child will be late!
